What to Expect at Your First Mobile IV Visit (Step by Step)

Booking, the telehealth Good Faith Exam, what the paramedic brings, how the hour goes, and what you'll feel after — a first-timer's complete walkthrough.

By Eve Delgado · Paramedic, Founder & Owner

The number one thing first-time clients tell us afterward: “That was so much easier than I expected.” The number one thing they tell us before: “I have no idea how this works.”

Fair enough. Here’s the entire experience, start to finish, so nothing surprises you.

Step 1: Book (2 minutes)

Book online through our contact form, or just text (914) 496-2960 with your town, what you’re feeling, and when you’d like a visit. Not sure which drip you need? Describe the goal — “wiped out after the flu,” “big weekend coming up,” “no energy lately” — and we’ll recommend the right bag. We serve all of Westchester County with a flat $99 concierge fee, seven days a week.

Step 2: The telehealth Good Faith Exam (5–10 minutes)

Before your first treatment, New York requires something most IV companies bury in fine print: a Good Faith Exam (GFE) — a short telehealth consult with a licensed medical provider who reviews your health history and clears you for IV therapy.

Ours is genuinely painless: available 9 AM to 9 PM daily, done from your phone, usually 5–10 minutes. You do it once, not before every visit. It exists to catch the rare situations where IV therapy isn’t appropriate — which is exactly what you want from a company putting a needle in your arm. If a provider doesn’t require one, that tells you something.

Step 3: Your paramedic arrives

At the scheduled window, a licensed, experienced paramedic arrives — our team comes from the 911 world, where IV placement in tough conditions is the day job. Your living room is easy mode.

They bring everything: IV supplies, the pole, your drip blend, and a sharps container. Setup takes about five minutes and works anywhere with a comfortable seat — couch, recliner, kitchen table, backyard shade. No mess, no trace left behind.

Step 4: The IV goes in (10 seconds)

A quick pinch — most clients rate it easier than a blood draw. Nervous around needles? Tell your paramedic; they’ve talked hundreds of people through it, and you never have to look.

Step 5: The drip runs (45–60 minutes)

This is the boring part, in the best way. The bag drips for 45 to 60 minutes while you watch TV, answer email, chat, or nap. Your paramedic stays the entire time, monitoring the line and adjusting the rate for comfort. You might notice a cool feeling in your arm or a brief vitamin taste — both normal.

NAD+ runs are the exception: those infuse slowly over 1.5–2+ hours for comfort.

Step 6: Done — and what you’ll feel

The IV comes out, a small bandage goes on, and your paramedic packs everything away. Most clients feel rehydration effects almost immediately — clearer head, less fatigue — with vitamin effects building over the next 12–24 hours. If you booked a hangover drip, the transformation is usually dramatic and fast; anti-nausea medication starts working within minutes.

Side effects are uncommon and mild: possibly a small bruise at the site, occasionally slight soreness. Your paramedic reviews everything before leaving.

A few first-timer tips

  1. Drink some water beforehand. Plump veins make for the easiest IV placement.
  2. Eat something light. A drip on a totally empty stomach can make some people lightheaded.
  3. Wear sleeves that roll up easily.
  4. Don’t clean your house for us. Truly. We’ve run IVs in ambulances; your kitchen is fine.
  5. Ask questions. Our paramedics genuinely like explaining what’s in the bag and why.
